Tipico-Eigenart is a German jewelry manufactory from Wiesbaden. Founded by designer Jutta Trenker in 1990, the jewelry enchants with its fairytale-like highly creative expression. The designer is inspired by travel and what she learns from foreign cultures and their traditions. She finds further sources in nature and also in the soul.

Obsidian, minerals, shells, gemstones and fossils are used. The jewelry is made in 925 sterling silver or gold-plated. Almost every piece of jewelry is unique or is produced in limited edition. High standards are also set in the workshop. The employees are valued and it is important to the designer that the jewelry is made in a peaceful atmosphere. Amour Fou & Art Magazine received an interview from the founder.

Amour Fou & Art Magazine: How did your career as a jewelry designer begin?

Jutta Trenker: Creativity was already a focus during my school years and as a study plan. These study plans came to rest through marriage and 20 years of living in various countries such as Egypt, Indonesia, Tunisia, Niger and Cameroon, where I was, however, very busy with photography. When the children were out of the house and I returned to Germany, I started jewelry design and production at the age of 40 through certain advanced training and "learning by doing".

Amour Fou & Art Magazine: Can you tell me something about your brand name and the eye logo?

Jutta Trenker: I chose the logo "Udjat" to express my reference to Egyptian mythology, and this sign also stands for protection and intuition. The two small snakes stand for the letter J (Jutta and Jost Trenker)

"Tipico" is a very own creation, although it also stands for the word in Italian, but it was created from the name of an Egyptian scribe named Ti, the Greek Pi and Co then stands for Company. It is all based on our own experience.

Amour Fou & Art Magazine: Which materials do you prefer to use?

Jutta Trenker: I prefer to use a combination of sensitively selected natural minerals and cut stones, lovingly set in sterling silver, which for me represents an interesting symbiosis. I get my inspiration from experiencing and living different cultures and their diversity as well as my intuition and love for beauty.

Amour Fou & Art Magazine: Have you seen your jewelry on red carpets on stars?

Jutta Trenker: In 2021, several pieces from our collection would be chosen by the Romanian designer Dorin Negrau, who has been present at New York Fashion Week for many years, and integrated into his show; this show also ran on the screen of the Times Saures in New York.

Amour Fou & Art Magazine: For which personality of woman do you design your jewelry?

Jutta Trenker: I particularly appeal to a female clientele who is confident in wearing large, eye-catching jewelry statement pieces to attract attention.

Amour Fou & Art Magazine: Which of your jewelry pieces do men like to wear?

Jutta Trenker: I also have male customers who like to wear a fancy pendant of Tipich-Art's ring, expressing their individuality.
