Düsseldorf, October 15, 2022: American photographer Jess T. Dugan has been nominated for the shortlist of the prestigious Paris Photo - Aperture PhotoBook Awards 2022 with their illustrated book "Look at me like you love me". From November 10 to 13, the winners will be announced in Paris and Jess T. Dugan will be there to sign their book, which will be published by Mack Publishing. The special edition of "Look at me like you love me" includes an additional image plate signed by the artist, tipped into the inside back cover.

St. Louis-based artist Jess T. Dugan has become known worldwide for their color photographs of social portraits that explore identities, particularly gender and sexuality.
"There's so much I can't say in my photographs, but it's all there, just below the surface, if you know what to look for." Jess T. Dugan

Dugan has long used photography to understand their own identity. In their first book, Look at Me Like You Love Me, Jess T. Dugan reflects on desire, intimacy, society, and the way our identities are shaped by these experiences. Dugan brings together self-portraits, portraits of individuals and couples, and still lifes, interwoven with diary-like notes that reflect on relationships, loneliness, family, loss, healing, and the changes that make up a life. Using medium format cameras and natural light, Dugan employs traditional photographic practices. "Look at Me Like You Love Me" functions as both an extended, oblique self-portrait and a catalog of friends and loved ones.

Düsseldorf, 15. Oktober 2022: Die amerikanische Fotografin Jess T. Dugan wurde mit their Bildband „Look at me like you love me“ für die Shortlist des renommierten Paris Photo - Aperture PhotoBook Awards 2022 nominiert.
