Dusseldorf, 5 November 2022: 6 new light sculptures by the major Italian artist Marinella Senatore, will be exhibited in Piazza dell'Annunziata in Venaria, the historic centre of Turin, from 4 November 2022 to 8 January 2023. Afterwards, they will move on to the rooms of the Citroniera of the Reggia di Venaria. The exhibition is curated by Guido Curto, the director of the Reggia di Venaria.

The theme of light is fundamental to the artist's multidisciplinary practice: she uses light to create poetry, and so the works bear names such as "Remember The First Time You Saw Your Name" or "We Rise by Lifting Others" by Robert Ingersoll and "Dance First Think Later" by Samuel Beckett. The light sculptures are a reminiscence of baroque festivals and at the same time a celebration of the transformative power of art and the exchange with the issues of our time. The works are created with LED and mercury-free neon tubes on supports made of recycled plastic.

"Light structures generate energy that spreads through the space in the form of light rays, changing it and transforming both the structures and the people who inhabit it," explains the artist.
