23. April 2022 - At the 59th La Biennale Di Venezia, Valentino Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli, curator Eugenio Viola and artist Gian Maria Tosatti met today to open the Italian Pavilion. Maison Valentino is the main sponsor of the Italian Pavilion.

History of Night and Destiny of Comets

Will be shown for the first time on April 23, 2022 and will remain on view until - November 27, 2022.

History of Night and Destiny of Comets is conceived as a large, site-specific installation that occupies the entire space of the Tese delle Vergini. It offers a vision of the current state of humanity and its future prospects. The work is conceived as a mediation tool that - as is usual in Tosatti's research - contains and mixes a variety of languages, combining literary references and visual art with stimuli from theatre, music and performance.

History of Night and Destiny of Comets tells of the difficult balance between man and nature, between sustainable development and territory, between ethics and profit, proposing an aesthetic reading of this scenario and offering an unprecedented platform for a broad and profound debate on these issues.

The 59th Biennale, The Milk of Dreams, is curated by Cecilia Alemani. Maison Valentino's commitment to the promotion and preservation of culture continues with projects aimed at a cultural comeback and reciprocity.

Once again, creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli wants to pay homage to the city of Venice. For Pierpaolo Piccioli, Venice is the natural perceptual scenario for a conversation between art and fashion, where a creative spirit can present its creations.

The Italian Pavilion will open on the occasion of the vernissage of the 59th International Art Exhibition - La Biennale di Venezia 2022 and will be open to the public from Saturday 23 April to Sunday 27 November 2022.
