The Kunststiftung NRW and the Pina Bausch Foundation will award the Pina Bausch Fellowship for Dance and Choreography for the eighth time in 2023. From February 15 to April 15, 2023, artists can apply for the Pina Bausch Fellowship for Dance and Choreography. Organizers share that all dance forms are welcome and they can be on-site, virtual or hybrid.

Düsseldorf, February 16, 2023: Kunststiftung NRW and the Pina Bausch Foundation will award the Pina Bausch Fellowship for Dance and Choreography for the eighth time in 2023. According to the organizers, the Pina Bausch Fellowship for Dance and Choreography is characterized by openness and flexibility. Dancers and choreographers are to be supported in the development of their own artistic expression and the fellowships can be implemented on site with the cooperation partners, take place virtually or hybrid.


The Jury

Dr. Keng Sen Ong Dr. Keng

The international jury consists of Dr. Keng Sen Ong Dr. Keng, artist-curator and educator from Singapore. Ong founded Arts Network Asia and the International Curator:ing Academy in T:>Works, Singapore. Since 2019, he has further developed the Young Curators Academy at Maxim Gorki Theater, Berlin. 


Lia Rodrigues

founded the Maré Art Center in 2009 and the Maré independent dance school in 2011. In 2005 she received the Order Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres from the French government, in 2014 the Prince Claus Foundation Prize of the Netherlands, and in 2016 the SACD Choreography Prize (France).


Marc Brew

Internationally acclaimed choreographer and artistic director Marc Brew devotes his Marc Brew Company to his own choreography. His work Remember When was nominated for an Isadora Duncan Dance Award for Best Performance (Individual) and his most recent solo work For Now, I am.... was listed by the Guardian in the Top 10 Dance Shows for 2016. The British rock band Placebo has released a limited vinyl edition "Placebo Paint", designed by the exceptional British artist Stuart Semple. Stuart Semple, also known as the "pigment activist", was the first to raise the issue of the intellectual property of a paint. Also in the media was his legal dispute with the English artist Anish Kapoor, in which he criticised the so-called monopolisation of "Vantablack". His new colour creation "Placebo", a beautifully changing shade of purple, is available to everyone.
