Dusseldorf, Dec. 2, 2022: One of the world's best-known living artists has helped create the opening show for Lightroom - a four-story space in Kings Cross, London's most exciting and creative neighborhood. According to the organizers, it features a new type of digital projection and audio technology. Opening on Jan. 25, 2023, "Lightroom" is set to be London's new home for spectacular artist-led shows.

For admirers of David Hockney's art, as well as everyone else, the show should be a spectacular event, with the addition of new elements previously unseen in immersive shows. Hockney himself has a fascination with new technologies and helped design the show himself. On display will be his iconic works as well as newly created works.

Six chapters with David Hockney's art

The immersive experience consists of six chapters and lasts 50 minutes, with specially composed music by Nico Muhly and commentary by the artist himself. They are fascinating stories, including about his audiovisual Wagnerian journey, the passage of time in his Polaroid collages, the joy of spring on his iPad, and how he tells visitors why only color can properly reflect the grandeur of the Grand Canyon.

"The world is very, very beautiful when you look at it, but most people don't look very closely. They scan the ground in front of them so they can walk, but they don't really look at things very well or very hard. I do."

Opening: Lightroom, Londons neues Zuhause für spektakuläre, von Künstlern geleitete Shows.

Lightroom zeigt: David Hockney: Bigger & Closer (not smaller & further away).

The Visit of Trash People Circular Valley Forum Ansgar Van Treeck

Art Calendar / Environment / Business, 19 November 2022

HA Schult's Trash People at the Circular Valley Forum in Wuppertal on 18 November 2022."Check the thing you want to throw away and don't give it away. It is the mirror of yourself. Don't betray your soul." 600 decision-makers from business and politics came together, including environmental activists from the early days such as HA Schult and former Federal Environment Minister Klaus Töpfer, described by the Forum as the "father of the circular economy". The participants were surprised by the Trash People, many of whom had never seen the artworks up close before. But the performance also shows what role artists play. They are not among the decision-makers, but art has the power to unite and emotionalise people, as it did on this evening.
