Düsseldorf, Business, 7 March 2023: Düsseldorf, capital of North Rhine-Westphalia will be the venue for the world's largest wine fair from 19 to 21 March. As it is purely a trade fair, ProWein goes city was conceived by ProWein and Destination Düsseldorf, and will be held parallel to Prowein for the 16th year.

This year, too, the city is expecting a fireworks display of events. In figures, this means 100 tasting events and 52 participating restaurants, hotels, vintners and specialist retailers.

The opening event will take place in the elegant Hotel Kö59 in the middle of Düsseldorf's Königsallee, when ten vintners from 7 nations will present their wines, accompanied by the culinary delights of star chef Björn Freitag. He describes his concept as honest cuisine with dishes: "I attach importance to a cuisine that lasts and that is also allowed to awaken one or two memories of childhood, when we were unspeakably happy about the delicious beef roulades". Accordingly, guests can expect a culinary journey with regional products at the opening event.

Highlights upon highlights

Other participants are Lido Malkasten, Café de Bretagne, Flehe Hof and Lido Hafen. At Anthony Sarong, there will be a "Treasure Hunt in Anthony's Kitchen" to go with the 5-course menu. Former Michelin-starred chef Jörg Wissmann has fulfilled his dream of owning his own restaurant with the new Jae and cooks a fusion of German and Korean cuisine here. On 19 March, he will match his 5-course gourmet menu with champagne from the house of Bruno Paillard, hosted by Alice Paillard herself.

Party until dawn

Falstaff Big Bottle Party at Stahlwerk, Georgian Ovevri Wine Party at Salon des Amateurs or "A taste of Portugal" with Faso music at Cave Taps.

Art Cologne 2022. The results. The art market works. Figures reported. Art Cologne came to an end today. Now taking place in autumn, Art Cologne was well prepared, with a new hall layout, wide plazas, floor strips and security. Around 43,000 people visited the fair to see the curated range of contemporary works, classical modernism and post-war German art. It was questionable how the results would turn out, given the energy crisis and the Ukraine war: Read on if you're interested in numbers:
